Collection: Hiking from Mahiyanganaya

With proximity to the Mahaweli River, the Mahiyanganaya town is located over 200 km away from the commercial hub of Colombo. Located east of the central highlands along the steep falls, Mahiyanganaya is more of a flat land area. A very sacred place for Buddhists, the town has many sights that one can visit which includes many temples of historical value. For a more thrilling experience, a hike can be organized to the Danigala Circular Rock, which offers you 360 degree sights with views of paddy fields, lakes and the surrounding forest lands at a distance. The Danigala rock also dates back to the Ramayana Era while there are several caves located there as well.
